You can integrate your Retention.com account directly with Bluecore to:
Sync From (Suppression): Suppress your existing Bluecore contacts in Retention.com using an SFTP suppression method.
Reclaim: Send Active on Site events to Bluecore when a known contact returns to your site, so you can trigger campaigns to re-engage them.
‼️ Only the Active on Site Reclaim event is available for Bluecore. Viewed Product, Added to Cart, and Checkout Started Reclaim events are not sent to Bluecore.
What you'll need
Your Retention.com Implementation or Client Success Manager will work with you and your Bluecore team to connect the integration.
Your Bluecore Namespace. This is the unique identifier for your brand in Bluecore. No API key or password is required. To find it, log in to Bluecore and look at the URL of any page. The namespace is the last part of the address, for example
app.bluecore.com/admin/dashboard/your_namespace. It's usually lowercase with underscores, not your display name.Custom Identifier (recommended): so that contacts and events land on the correct Bluecore profile. See Match contacts to Bluecore profiles below.
Bluecore SFTP credentials for suppression: the SFTP Host, Username, and Password for your Bluecore-hosted SFTP, plus suppression files set up on it. See Set up suppression.
Connect the integration
Navigate to your Retention.com dashboard.
Click on Integrations from the left navigation panel in Retention.com. Then, click Available Integrations at the top and select the Bluecore icon.
Enter your Namespace and click Connect. Activate Grow, Reclaim, or both.
Continue to the Grow setup and/or Reclaim setup below, then Enable the integration.
Note: The namespace isn't validated when you connect. Double-check that it's spelled exactly as it appears in Bluecore. A typo won't show an error here, but contacts and events won't reach Bluecore (you'll see failures in your Sync Summary).
Sync From (Suppression) Setup
Retention.com reads your existing contacts from CSV files on your Bluecore SFTP so we never send you a contact you already have.
1. Find your SFTP credentials in Bluecore
In Bluecore, open the Data menu from the left navigation and click Integrations.
Find the Bluecore SFTP (Export) card and click See Details.
Click Authentication. Copy the Host (ex.
triggermail.files.com), Username (usuallyyournamespace_sftp_admin), and Password. These are the SFTP Host, SFTP User, and SFTP Password you'll enter in Retention.com.[Screenshot: Bluecore SFTP > Authentication]
If you don't see a Bluecore SFTP integration, ask your Bluecore CSM to enable SFTP for your account.
2. Set up your suppression files
Your Bluecore CSM can set up a scheduled Data Export of your customer emails to this SFTP (Bluecore: Export data). The files must follow this exact format:
File | Path on the SFTP server |
Historical (full list, one time) |
|
Daily updates |
|
Each file must have a header row with a single column named
email.The paths are fixed and cannot be changed.
If a file is empty or can't be found, we'll retry automatically and notify our support team.
Once your files are ready, email your Retention.com Implementation Manager OR whiteglove[at]retention[dot]com (and cc your Bluecore contact) to confirm. This step must be completed before turning on suppression.
3. Turn on suppression in Retention.com
Click on Integrations from the left navigation panel in Retention.com. Then, click the three dots to modify Settings.

Reclaim setup
Register the Reclaim event in Bluecore
Bluecore only accepts custom events that are registered in your account, so create the Reclaim event before enabling Reclaim.
In Bluecore, open the Data menu from the left navigation and click Events.
Click Create New Event and fill it in exactly as follows:
Field | Value |
Name |
|
Description |
|
Key |
|
Event Type | Customer |
Supported Identifiers | ✅ |
Additional Properties |
|
Then click Save Event.
[Screenshot: Bluecore Create New Event form]
‼️ The Key must be exactly active_on_site_reclaim, since that's the event name Retention.com sends.
Enable Reclaim in Retention.com
Make sure Reclaim is activated on the Bluecore integration (see Connect the integration) and that the integration is Enabled. Reclaim events will begin syncing to Bluecore.
What Reclaim sends to Bluecore
When a known contact returns to your site, Retention.com sends Bluecore this event:
Event name in Bluecore | When it fires | Properties |
| A known contact is active on your site |
|
Events are only sent for contacts with an email address.
Sample payload. Retention.com sends this to Bluecore's Events API (POST https://api.bluecore.app/api/track/mobile/v1):
{
"event": "active_on_site_reclaim",
"properties": {
"token": "your_namespace",

}
}tokenis your Bluecore namespace.distinct_idis the Bluecore visitor ID from the Custom Identifier, or the contact's email if it isn't set up.visitsis sent as text, not a number.
