NOTE: Follow this guide if setting up a MailChimp Integration after May 20th, 2026.
You can integrate your Retention.com account directly with MailChimp.
An integration between Retention.com and MailChimp does four things:
Automatically sends contacts acquired in your Retention.com account to MailChimp, into a list of your choosing.
Automatically suppresses existing contacts in your MailChimp account, to avoid redundancies or to avoid sending existing contacts.
Ability to set up custom filters to sync filters (ie, send leads from different domains to different lists or ESPs).
Automatically syncs abandonment events to power marketing automations.
To get started
1. Login to your Retention App and then a navigate to Integrations and click the '+' to add a new integration. Search for MailChimp and click Add Now
2. Click Connect and you will now be redirected to Mailchimp and prompted to login.
3. After logging, you'll now need to finalize authorizing the Retention.com App. Click Allow and this will finish connecting your Retention App to your MailChimp account.
Finish setting up integration
1. Click on Integrations from the left navigation panel in Retention.com. Then, click Available Integrations at the top and choose the Mailchimp icon.
2. Reclaim and Contact Suppression should already be enabled. If not, click the three dots to the right of the integration name and then edit the settings to enable.
3. Grow will need to be enabled after the integration is added, select the List you'd like to sync contacts to as well as the Store. If you only have one store connected to Mailchimp, you will still need to select it to complete the setup. Then click Save.
3. Enable the integration. Once you enable the integration, your suppression and collection sync settings will apply and begin. Then, click Finish.
4. Once the integration is complete, you will see the integration date, API details, contact suppression, and the option to set/change the list it's synced to. You can also Remove the integration from this page at the top.

Grow Sync settings, including the list you're syncing contacts to
Sync summary
To access any of these settings, click Integrations > Dots > Settings.
Sync summary
You can view your daily sync history under Sync Summary on your integration page. It will show you the date, number of completions, if there are any failures, and the number that are in the queue.
To access all of your sync history, click View Full History under Sync Summary. If there's a failure, it will show the email address, what type of failure has occurred under ESP Feedback, and the date and time of the failure.
