To set up the integration, the user will require the following permissions/accounts within their Facebook business account:
A System User
A Facebook App
An Ads Account
A SUAT (System User Access Token)
💡 The Retention.com app only supports one Facebook integration at a time. If you already have a Facebook integration set up in your Retention.com account, you will need to delete that integration first.
Create a Facebook App
The first step is to create an App, for that we navigate to Settings > Accounts > Apps, and press the + Add button.
Select Create a new app ID.
Fill in the App name and App contact email.
On the next step, select the last option Other.
Select Business in the next step.
Select the Create App button.
Your permanent token is now ready, and next we will create a Retention system user.
Create a System User
The next step is to create the system user. In your business account, go to Settings > Users > System users, and hit the + Add button.
Input a System user name and add the Admin role as the System user role.
Next we need to assign this user to your current Ads account. Select the actions button (the three dots) and Assign assets.
Select the appropriate Ads account and toggle Full control to on.
Navigate back to the app you created, and select Assign people.
Assign this new system user with Full control.
The token can now be generated by selecting Generate token.
Select the newly created app.
Select Never for the Token Expiry field.
Set the Select Permissions to ads_management.
Copy the token that is created.
Log in to app.retention.com, navigate to Integrations, and select ADD INTEGRATION.
Start typing "Face..." into the search box, and select Facebook (PERMANENT TOKEN).
Select ADD NOW.
Enter your AD Account ID and your new Permanent Token.
Select CONNECT.
